Once upon a time...
7 March 2003 to be exact, a girl named Niya joined Dodo's message board. That would be me,
a 17 old girl who likes webdesigning (like 99% of the members), painting, sketching, dancing, singing, eh..sleeping and those are all the
-ing's I can think of now.
Also..
-I <3 learning new languages! Foreign languages are fun! =)
-Dogs scare me, no matter how tiny and fluffy they are, I always run and hide when they start barking >.<;;
-I dislike milk, especially warm or hot milk, yuk!
-If I wear a skirt, which is not very often, I always wear it OVER my pants/jeans,
because I don't like panties or my legs uncovered XD
-I love henna art! =D
-I'm a lipgloss and an As The World Turns addict õ_Õ
But let's talk
about DMB now =)
I think I'm visiting it since October 2003, after I found the link to it after visiting one
of Dodo's or Daynah's pages. I was searching for some PHP article I think.
There was 'love at first sight'. But I didn't register yet. Can't remember the reason. Maybe I was too busy with school and such, to join a messageboard
and to be an active member of it. I was a 'silent reader', not only at DMB, but on the internet in general.
Later, much later, let's say end November, begin December I was more active and even builded a site and I was looking for a host for it.
But I didn't knew much people to host it and had no clue where to start looking for a host.
I returned to DMB, I remembered the friendlyness of it, and saw a topic of Christine(pyro) in which she was looking for hostees (I still wasn't a member of DMB btw.), I applied and got hosted ^_^
That was sort of 'my first (good) experience' with messageboards. Not that I had bad experiences before, but I noticed that joining a messageboard could be useful.
Again, much much later, in March, I had lots of spare time, so I revamped my site completely and also decided to register.
DMB had helped me, but I also read the advices members gave eachother in the different help forums, everyone, really
everyone is nice to eachother and that attracted me. I love to be a part of that.
It was useful to me before, and I thought maybe I could help out others too.
I'm now a member for 155 days, and actually I really started posting since the start of the summervacation ^^;; Also, DMB has lots of activities during the holidays in
which I'm able to participate. I love all the events going on during the Christmas-, Easter holidays etc. =)
I can't say DMB has changed my life, I mean, a marriage can change your life, but a messageboard? ...
Hmmm..not really. I must say that it does inspire me a lot, and that I learn something new everytime I visit it. DMB has lots of adore-worthy members.
I like the combination of them showing off their great work but also helping others at the same time. This board has a whole other 'atmosphere' than the most other boards.
I do have joined other boards after DMB, but DMB is still my favorite. It's active, growing, has lots of things to do, games(!, though, I haven't played one of them yet ^^;;)
nobody uses sticky caps, there's a shop, I don't think I've summed up even the half of all the cool things =p It's such a lovely community overall. There's no other messageboard like this out there.
What I would do if Dodo were to close DMB today? 0_0; DMB, close, today..nooo! Those 3 words don't match, they can't, I won't allow it! X(
Haha, no, seriously, I can't imagine Dodo would be that cruel =) But if she really closed it today..I don't think she would do it without a good reason,
so..I shall not worry about that...I don't think I could/should do anything about it.
Till now, I'm enjoying DMB very much and I hope it will stay that way. I visit it atleast once a day, sometimes more.
I probably won't be posting that much during schooldays, but I'll be happy to be active in
holidays, hoping that there will be special activities too then.
I hope my story is long enough now, wow, that's almost sounding like I don't like doing this, but actually I really do. I love making webpages
in general, and I also like participating in DMB events, and this is one. I hope that I've convinced someone to join DMB, and that everyone will be having fun here for as long DMB will last.
